MPX NYC is a campaign of Rapid Epidemiologic Study of Prevalence, Network, and Demographics of Mpox Infection (RESPND-MI), an anonymous, online survey that collected information on the social and spatial networks connecting queer and trans people in New York City. As Co-Investigator in partnership with an agency, Nick oversaw a multilingual campaign across websites, newsletters, social media, press, and out-of-home ads, which won a national award. Additionally, he administered the weekly RESPND-MI LGBTQ+ Community Forum, supported development to fundraise $150,000, and coordinated press outreach to place releases and thought leadership in news media. He also co-developed health education materials and policy briefs to advise city, state, and federal governments on the response to mpox.

Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) seeks to end global pediatric HIV/AIDS through prevention and treatment programs, research, and advocacy. As Manager of Editorial Services on the External Affairs Team, Nick led the Publications Steering Committee, co-chaired the Thought Leadership Task Team, supervised the Associate Officer of Editorial Services, and supported the development of publications, including manuscripts, abstracts, presentations, reports, and marketing collateral.

Public Health Post is a publication that translates peer-reviewed literature for an audience of journalists, policymakers, and public health professionals. As Managing Editor, Nick not only refreshed the publication’s look and feel and helped to grow readership, he also contributed articles on pressing public health issues.

To engage readers using multimedia, Nick launched PHPod — a monthly podcast series featuring his interviews with national experts in public health. They spoke about the health challenges of our time, covering topics that range from antiracism to ballet.

Sarah Kliff, an investigative reporter for The New York Times, offers her thoughts on health care reform, coronavirus, journalism in a time of misinformation, and the relationship between health care and public health.

The Consortium for Affordable Medical Technologies (CAMTech) identifies gaps in clinical care, crowdsources innovative solutions, and accelerates the cycle from idea to impact. As Marketing and Communications Manager at the Massachusetts General Hospital Center for Global Health, Nick led multiple campaigns for CAMTech, coordinating across a dozen organizations. This accelerator yielded hundreds of medtech innovations, many of which went to market.
